Subway: no dogs, unless it fits in a closed carrier
SPT's conditions of travel keep animals off the Subway with two exceptions: assistance dogs, and small animals in a carrier made for the purpose, which stays closed in the station, on the platform and for the whole journey. A rucksack or handbag doesn't count, and nothing can poke out of the bag.
First Glasgow buses: one dog, on a lead, at the driver's discretion
First Glasgow carries one dog or small animal per customer, always at the driver's discretion for the safety and comfort of other passengers. The dog stays on a lead at all times, muzzled where the law requires it, and off the seats. Assistance dogs of any size travel free at any time. Cleaning is charged if the dog soils the bus.
Under the National Rail conditions, which cover ScotRail services, you can bring up to two animals at no extra charge. The dog travels on a lead or in a pet carrier, at the station and on the train, and never on the seats. No animals in restaurant cars except assistance dogs, and staff can have an animal removed if its size or behaviour is a problem for other passengers.
Parks: reasonable control, and notices decide the rest
Glasgow's park management rules let you exercise a dog in any park unless a notice says otherwise, provided it's under reasonable control, which the rules define as causing no annoyance, offence, alarm or distress to other park users. Animals stay out of play areas and off sports pitches while the pitches are in use. Pick up the mess and bin it in the park or take it away.
The Scottish SPCA says most dogs are comfortable walking between 15°C and 25°C, and any temperature below 20°C is fine. On a hot day walk before 9am or after 5pm and skip the middle of the day. If you can't hold your hand on the tarmac for five seconds, it's too hot for paws. Cool, fresh water, and never a hot car.
